USB Bootloader with Shared USBXpress Library

Steps to demonstrate the basic features of this USBXpress Bootloader and Examples:

1. Uninstall any existing version(s) of the USBXpress driver other than v3.1 -- From Add/Remove Programs, uninstall 
"USBXpress Driver Set" and "Silicon Labs USBXpress vX.X".

2. If not already installed, install the USBXpress v3.1.1 by downloading from:
http://www.silabs.com/products/microcontroller/downloads.asp
This copies the driver files and default examples to "C:\SiLabs\MCU\USBXpress".

3. Run the "C:\SiLabs\MCU\USBXpress\Driver\USBXpressInstaller.exe" to preinstall the default drivers (VID=0x10C4; PID=0xEA61).

4. Connect to a C8051F320, C8051F326, or a C8051F340 target board using the Silicon Labs IDE 
(PC<-->Debug Adapter<-->TB<--Power Adapter). From the IDE, choose the 'Tools > Erase Code Space' command to erase all code on the device.

5. Choose 'Debug > Download Object File...' and select one of these files: 'USB_BL_F320_1_16K.OMF', 'USB_BL_F326_7_16K.OMF', 
'USB_BL_F34X_64K.OMF', depending on which device you are using. These files are located at 
"...\Device_Specific\C8051F*\USB_BL_Firmware_Image\". Click 'Download' to download the bootloader into the device. 
Disconnect the target board from the Silicon Labs IDE.

6. Unpower the target board. Connect a USB cable between the target board and the PC. Now, power the target board. 
Windows will might bring up the New Hardware Wizard. Just click "Next" to install the driver (Click 'continue anyway' 
if you see any unsigned driver warning). To verify whether you have indeed installed the correct driver, go to Device 
Manager and view the properties of the 'USBXpress' device under 'Universal Serial Bus Controllers'. In the 'Details' 
tab, you should see the version number for SiUSBXp.sys as 3.1.

7. Run '...\USB_Bootloader_Software\USB_Bootloader_Software_Executable\USBBootloader.exe'. You should see 'ar5w7z' 
in the device list. Select 'Open' and then use 'Browse' to select the first testpanel hex file: 
'...\Device_Specific\C8051F*\USB_App_Firmware_Examples\F*_Testpanel1\TestPanel1.hex', depending on the device you are using.

8. Choose 'Download' to download it to the device. After the bootloader reports success, choose 'Reset Device' to reset the 
device. This will reset the device and take it out of bootload mode.

9. Since the device has been re-enumerated with a different serial number (ar5w7), Windows will consider it as a new device. 
This might again bring up the New Hardware Wizard. Choose 'Next' to install the driver automatically.

10. Now, run '...\USB_App_Software_Example\Testpanel_Application_Executable\USBTestVBNET.exe'. This will demonstrate that 
the testpanel demo code is running. To bootload a new code image, click on the 'Bootload' button. This will close the 
application and reset the device. (Note that there is a small gray box to the left of 'Bootload'. The reason for this 
will be explained in step 11).

11. Run USBBootloader.exe again. This time, load the second testpanel hex file:
'...\Device_Specific\C8051F*\USB_App_Firmware_Examples\F*_Testpanel2\TestPanel2.hex', depending on the device you are using.

12. Follow steps 8 and 10. This time you will see that the small box to the left of the 'Bootload' button is blinking green. 
This is the difference between the two testpanel code images, and shows that the code was indeed updated successfully. 
(This time there was no New Hardware Wizard because the second testpanel uses the same serial number as the first one).
